Northern Plains Region Welcomes Dr. Randy Jaspers

Dr. Randy Jaspers began serving as NPR Regional Minister November 1. Randy is the oldest of five children, growing up on a dairy farm in Iowa. Steamboat Rock Baptist is his home church. Sensing a call to ministry in high school, he attended John Brown University (Arkansas, social studies education) and North American Baptist Seminary (Sioux Falls, pastoral ministry).

He served as senior pastor at First Baptist, Linton, ND (1983-1990), First Baptist Church, Medina, ND (1990-2002) and Temple Baptist Church, Jamestown, ND (1990-2017). Randy has served with various ministries, including: Crystal Springs Camp (summer camps and board), NCA Executive, the leadership movement, Sioux Falls Seminary Board, NAB Executive Committee as well as local groups. He completed a Doctor of Ministry at Bethel Seminary in 1999.

He describes his gifts as centering around God’s Word and people, with a heart for the rural church and community ministry. He’s also had opportunity to be part of mission trips to Russia, Cameroon, Kenya and Uganda.

Randy and Kristy, a native of Lansing, Illinois, met at John Brown University, married in 1979 and have five adult children: Mark, Mike (wife, Adrienne), Ryan, Lisa and Karen plus three grandchildren. Kristy often accompanies Randy on their visits to various churches.
